One-offs
Custom solid body electric guitar
Based on my Clarendon model, but with a body shape and headstock inlay designed by the customer, Ian Roberts. Neck and body are made of sipo (aka utile - thanks to Alastair from Reid Timber for the lovely blanks), and the fretboard is katalox. Bridge and pickup are Golden Age from Stewmac. A simple guitar, but sounds great...
...or in this case, two-offs...
I was asked to build this pair by someone who was moving to Ireland and couldn't take their favourite armchair with them; it was a bit knackered but he thought it was worth re-purposing the arms, at least... So here they are, six and eight string reclaimed oak lap steels. Built to a very tight budget they have ebonised oak fretboards and control covers, nut and bridge made of aluminium sections, and cheap sealed tuners. They do sound great, though!
