Prices & Ordering
Prices for instruments are, I believe, very reasonable, but vary according to the woods and hardware chosen. I dont really do fancy inlay work, or use incredibly rare and outrageously expensive woods, which is often what bumps the price up significantly... Please refer to the relevant instrument pages for more specs & options, but as a guide:
Electric guitars (Clarendon model) start at £1100 - non-cutaway African mahogany (khaya) body; no binding; bolt-on maple or khaya neck; granadillo or katalox fingerboard; single Golden Age P90 pickup (neck or bridge position); floating wood bridge; Grover Sta-tite or Golden Age tuners
Steel guitars start at £600 - Sycamore (European maple) or African mahogany solid body with Tru-oil finish; no binding; Golden Age lipstick or P90 pickup; aluminium nut & bridge/tailpiece; Golden Age tuners
Mandolins start at around £1250 for an oval hole Venetian model - spruce top; plain or lightly figured maple body & neck; granadillo fingerboard; plastic binding; Gotoh tuners
Ukuleles start at £550 for a soprano or £900 for a baritone with minimal decoration - either all khaya (African mahogany), or the same but with a cedar top; plastic binding (top, back & soundhole); granadillo bridge & fingerboard; Graph Tech Ratio geared tuners (or Grover Sta-tites on the baritone)
Acoustic guitars (both steel and nylon strung) start at around £1400 for a parlour sized instrument (c.300mm lower bout) - either all African mahogany (steel string) or mahogany/sycamore with a western red cedar top (steel or nylon); plastic binding (top, back & soundhole); granadillo or katalox bridge & fingerboard; Grover Sta-tite or Golden Age 3-on-a-plate tuners
Zithers start at £250 for a 5 string Finnish kantele in lime and poplar, and £300 for a 5 string epinette in either spruce and mahogany or lime and poplar - these are available to order from my Etsy shop here - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WoodsvilleWoodcraft
No extra charge for left handed instruments - you'll only pay more if a part costs me significantly more to supply (e.g. Bigsby vibratos)
To order, please use the form on the contact page with an idea of the kind of instrument you want and I'll send you a price list with the available options. A 30% deposit wil get you on the build list, with the balance paid on completion of the instrument
Current build time is 4-6 months for standard models, longer for custom orders - depending on complexity
I will occasionally have instruments built 'on spec'; these will be for sale on Reverb.com and/or advertised in the Instruments section here and on Facebook
If you are looking for something a little more bespoke, email me with your idea, I'll tell you if i think I can build it, and we can take it from there...
